You FOUND me!!!

First and foremost, thank you for searching for me. I’m thrilled that you are here! This is the part about me. If you know me, its okay to skip this part.

I have type 1 diabetes and am a true “diabetes nerd,” reading as much as I can in my free time. I loving sharing this knowledge with patients/providers/family/random strangers.

My experience with a chronic condition informs my approach to healthcare. YOUR goals are my priority. If I don’t agree with them, I’ll provide an explanation. Furthermore, I am an advocate of the sanctity of the patient-physician RELATIONSHIP, which is the foundation to exceptional medical care. I am averse to conveyer belt medicine that has become the norm in our country. You deserve way more than the 12 minutes allotted to you by the mega clinics. Would you trust a barber/ stylist to cut your hair in 7 minutes?

I have a degree in nutrition, graduated from University of Washington School of Medicine, Completed 2 years of residency and fast tracked to fellowship in Endocrinology. I hated it (fellowship) and left early. I am board certified in Internal medicine and pride myself on providing personalized yet comprehensive care to every person I see. I don’t know everything but I know how to find answers if I can’t answer a question.

More about me…

I live with my tremendous husband and really amazing sons in Missoula Montana. When I’m not reading about diabetes, I love skiing, hiking, golfing, and travel. I’m also a movie buff and connoisseur of binge-worthy tv shows. I am terrified of heights, love my dogs (Zuzu most of all) and am transparent to a fault. I love DIY anything, including my own insulin pump (courtesy of the incredible Open Source Diabetes Community).
